Don't judge another person's life until you've been forced to live it!
Though statistics have recently shown that in the end of 2009 there was a decrease in the numbers of abortions happening in New Zealand. There is no decrease in opinions from those who are against abortions. Adoption is one way to try and solve the problem but is it right for the mother to carry the child till full term then abandon that child into adoption? In doing so they are making an irreversible decision on the part of the child, a decision that is likely to cause that child a huge and long lasting pain; pain that can be caused if they are not chosen by families to be adopted they're then moved to different foster homes every few months; this foster system where they are taken in by families that don’t care about them but only for the money that comes with the child. A child needs love and not a place to stay til they are legal enough to fend for themselves. Many children go about with this pain as it leaves a longer struggle to overcome compared to that short lived pain to the foetus, which unfortunately isn’t considered a child until it can sustain its own functions outside of the womb. When a mother abandons her child to adoption for whatever the reason, they are condemning that child to whatever comes good or bad. An adopted person will feel a lifetime of struggle for being abandoned by his or her mother. Though they may have loving adoptive parents the thoughts of what could have been will continuously run through that child’s mind.
In the final analysis, one may think they’re dead against abortions because of their religion or their parents beliefs but they don’t see it from an unbiased point of view first.Whatever the reasons may be, whether because of a serious financial situation or an unborn child being conceived the wrong way, leaves that child with a life of adoption and no knowledge of how their future may play out. If a woman wants an abortion it’s her right as a human to be allowed one. Yes, this is pro death for the fetus, but it is pro choice for the woman. A woman's body is her own, “No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her body. No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother.” Margaret Sanger.
